Fowler Family Foundation Executive Director Robert Hoofman and Managing Shareholder of The Fowler Law Firm PC Laura Fowler recently attended a networking mixer at the gorgeous new KMFA Classical 89.5 building to learn more about two treasured Austin arts organizations: KMFA radio and aGLIFF, Austin's LGBTQ+ Film Festival.

KMFA, Austin's classical music public radio station since 1967, recently completed a capital campaign to fund its new home in the Hatchery development in East Austin. The centerpiece of the building is the Draylen Mason Music Studio, which was designed to host everything from performances by local arts organization to world renowned classical musicians. The space, which dubs as a recording studio, includes a stunning Steinway & Sons Spirio piano, a high-resolution player piano that enables guests to enjoy performances played by great pianists - captured with such nuance, power, and passion that they are utterly indistinguishable from live performance.

Austin's oldest film festival, aGLIFF's mission is to create positive and visible film programs relevant to the lives of LGBTQ+ identified people and to educate the larger community about LGBTQ+ issues through film. The organization produces its annual PRISM film festival each August, as well as offering year- round programming including a monthly screening series, a summer camp for aspiring young LGBTQ+ filmmakers, and the Queer Black Voices Fund that aims to shine a spotlight on the often underrepresented stories created by Queer Black filmmakers.

Both organizations represent the kind of partnerships Fowler Family Foundation and The Fowler Law Firm PC love to support. Each is a well managed 501(c)3 public charitable corporation whose public events bring many cutting-edge artists to Austin. The Fowler Law Firm PC is honored to serve as new pro bono legal counsel to aGLIFF. Fowler Family foundation is a proud donor to both of these worthy organizations.

As COVID recedes and our friends open their arms and doors to live events again, we urge you to check out the aGLIFF website and KMFA events page to learn more about the remarkable music, film, and joy availabe in our city.
