THOMAS J. O'MEARA, JR. tomeara@thefowlerlawfirm.com Tom O’Meara moved to Randolph Air Force Base, Texas when he graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1970, and returned to Texas in 1975 to attend The University of Texas School of Law. While completing law school, he served as the Commander of two Air Force Reserve units at Bergstrom Air Force Base, and then opened a small law practice. Tom is pleased to serve the needs of individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations as the Managing Attorney for The Fowler Law Firm PC. Attorney O’Meara’s advice is designed to empower his clients to make good decisions and avoid costly legal mistakes. Estate Planning advice and Probate Services are delivered by The Fowler Law Firm with a similar objective: to help each client learn how to take advantage of opportunities and face challenges with minimal exposure to defense costs. In Tom’s words, it is like putting oil in your car’s engine! Professor O’Meara teaches Law and Government at Concordia University and Texas State University and frequently makes continuing education presentations to the Austin and Texas Bar Associations. Occasionally, he is also called to teach Communications and Research at the University of Livingstonia in Malawi, Africa. Community Leader O’Meara has been engaged in building institutions in Austin, Texas, the United States, Mexico and Africa. Tom advises many community agencies and organizations and helped form Oak Hill Business and Professional Association. He is an Elder at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church where he has been on the Missions Committee for over 25 years. Tom is always a top fundraiser for the Hill Country Ride for AIDS and has held various leadership positions in Foundation for the Homeless and in Family Promise. He was the training coordinator for the Austin community response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and on very cold nights can be found opening the shelter at Central Presbyterian Church for homeless families. Tom’s broad understanding of community and legal issues allows him to assist his clients with their Estate Planning decisions, as well as make adjustments after the loss of a beloved family member.
