Teresa Villasenor Harris brings extensive experience to The Fowler Law Firm in the areas of Civil Litigation and Insurance Defense. Having served as an executive for insurance companies in California she possesses great familiarity with and unique insights into this field, assets which have contributed to making her career exceptionally successful. In addition to being a highly effective legal strategist and negotiator and fluent in Spanish, Ms. Harris also enjoys a stellar reputation with her clients who praise both her high ethical standards and her personal dedication and commitment to each and every matter that she handles.
A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy High School in Los Angeles and the University of California Santa Barbara, Ms. Harris served as an Insurance Risk Manager and Adjuster prior to embarking upon her legal career. As a Senior Claims Executive for Allstate Insurance Company, Beaver Pacific and B.P.C. Risk Management, she primarily handled commercial, bodily injury and property claims, as well as some automobile and product liability disputes.
In 1981, Ms. Harris matriculated with the University of San Diego School of Law, where she achieved recognition as the Student Council President of LA Raza Law Students. Upon becoming a member of the Texas Bar in 1989, Ms. Harris joined the El Paso law firm of Dudley, Dudley and Windle. Her career flourished as she applied her insurance expertise to the legal field. Building upon her proficiency in that specialization, Ms. Harris continued to expand her areas of practice, and established herself as a litigator in medical malpractice and professional liability defense.
After her experiences in El Paso , Ms. Harris spent three years sailing the Sea of Cortez with her husband, Malcolm Harris, and obtained her certification as a scuba diver. Her adventures upon the high seas ended, however, when she returned to Texas . Upon moving to the Austin area, Ms. Harris and her husband Malcolm, a fellow Fowler Law Firm attorney, joined the law firm Henslee Fowler Hepworth & Schwartz, LLP, serving as counsel to the firm. In addition, Ms. Harris set up an informal office in her home, offering her expertise to members of her community and granting counsel and personal support to neighbors seeking legal recourse. A pillar of her community and gracious friend to those in need, Ms. Harris embodies the best traditions and highest callings of the law, a commitment that led Ms. Harris to join Laura Fowler in launching the Fowler Law Firm.
